Review on Molecular Targets of CD79A
CD79a, also known as mb-1, is a 47kDa membrane glycoprotein, which combines with CD79b to form heterodimeric B cell receptor (BCR). This receptor is responsible for B cell signal transduction, leading to activation, apoptosis or allergy. From the earliest B cells to plasma cells, the expression of CD79a has always existed. CD79 is expressed in B-cell tumors and some non-B-cell malignant tumors, such as AML. Unlike other antibodies that can be expressed in B-cell tumor cells, HM47 is a reliable antibody that recognizes CD79a, so it is a good marker of B cells. Due to the existence of several variants of CD79a, the exact position of epitope may be slightly different.
