Review of CD19 molecular targets
CD19 is a 95kDa transmembrane glycoprotein, belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, which is expressed in all developmental stages of B cells except plasma cells. CD19 forms a complex with CD21, CD81 and MHC II molecules, and initiates the activation of mature B cells by interacting with B cell receptors. CD19 can promote the proliferation, development and activation of B cells and the maturation of memory B cells. In mice with CD19 deletion, the generation and maturation of B cells in bone marrow and peripheral blood were affected.
