Review of molecular targets of CD86
CD86, also known as B7.2, has a molecular weight of 80 kD and is expressed in dendritic cells, monocytes, memory T lymphocytes, germinal center B lymphocytes, activated B lymphocytes and activated T lymphocytes. It belongs to immunoglobulin superfamily, and its ligands are CD28 and CD152 (CTLA4). CD86 interacts with CD28 as inducer and CTLA4 as inhibitor, which is the main synergistic factor to induce T lymphocyte proliferation and produce IL-2.
