Overview of LAG3 molecular target information
Molecular name: LAG3, lymphocyte activating 3.
Gene family: CD molecules; Immunoglobulin like domain containing
Alias: CD223
Full name: lymphocyte-activation gene 3
Review of LAG3 molecular targets
CD223, the lymphocyte activation gene 3(LAG-3), has higher affinity for MHC-II than CD4, so it is considered to be related to the negative regulation of T cell activation and steady-state proliferation. LAG-3 has been reported to be expressed on activated T cells (including regulatory T cells) and NK cells. LAG-3 is usually expressed more on CD8+T cells than CD4+T cells. The co-expression of LAG-3 and CD49b is recommended to identify human and mouse Tr1 cells.
