CD103 is the αE subunit of Integrin, which is encoded by the ITGAE gene on chromosome 17. Integrins are dimeric transmembrane proteins formed by α and β subunits. 16 α subunits and 8 β subunits can produce over 20 different dimerizations. Ligands that bind to integrin receptors include fibronectin, collagen, and ovalbumin. In addition to mediating cell adhesion and the cytoskeleton, integrins function as signaling receptors. Integrin-transmitted signals play a role in many biological processes including cell growth, differentiation, migration and apoptosis.
CD103 antibody reagents can specifically bind to CD103 molecular antigens. Immunohistochemistry kits containing CD103 antibody reagents are suitable for the precise diagnosis of enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma.
