Review of molecular targets of PTPRC
CD45, also known as leukocyte common antigen, LCA), is composed of a class of transmembrane proteins with similar structures and large molecular weights (180 kDa, 190 kDa, 205 kDa and 200 kDa), which are widely present on the surface of all white blood cells (including lymphocytes, granulocytes and monocytes), but not expressed in mature red blood cells, platelets, mature erythroid cells in bone marrow and non-hematopoietic tissues. Cytoplasmic segment of CD45 has the function of protein tyrosine phosphatase, which can dephosphorize and activate tyrosine on substrates P56lck and P59fyn, and plays an important role in cell signal transduction. CD45 is a key molecule in cell membrane signal transduction, which is of great significance in lymphocyte development, function regulation and signal transmission. The distribution of CD45 can be used as a classification marker for some T cell subsets.
