D'Autoni iodine solution is an aqueous solution of iodine and potassium iodide, similar to Lugol's iodine solution, and is mostly used for fecal examination of helminth eggs, protozoan encapsulations and trophozoites; the effective iodine content of D'Autoni iodine solution is 1%, which is simple to operate, and it can be sampled and examined for several consecutive days to increase the detection rate, but negative results do not completely exclude the presence of parasitic infection.
