Gastrin is a polypeptide hormone primarily responsible for stimulating gastric acid secretion in the gastric mucosa and promoting proliferation and division of gastrointestinal epithelial cells. The active subtypes are G34 and G17. Recent studies have revealed that gastrin mediates interactions between leukocytes and endothelial cells. Gastrin is present in the gastric antrum (pylorus) mucosal cells (G cells), duodenal glands, and Brunner's glands of healthy individuals. This antibody primarily targets gastrin-secreting cells, structurally similar cells, and associated tumors.
Gastrin antibody reagents can specifically bind to the gastrin molecular antigen. Immunohistochemistry kits containing gastrin antibody reagents are suitable for the precise diagnosis of gastrinomas, G cell hyperplasia, and certain neuroendocrine tumors.
