This antibody specifically recognizes an antigen present in fetal and neonatal melanocytes and junctional nevi, while intradermal nevi and normal adult melanocytes are negative for expression. It can be used for research on melanoma, renal angiomyolipoma, lymphangioleiomyoma, and perivascular epithelioid cell tumors. Typically, epithelial tumors, lymphomas, gliomas, and tumors of mesenchymal origin are negative for expression.
