Serotonin is commonly referred to as serotonin, and serotonin-positive cells are found mainly in the mucosa of the stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, colon, and appendix. The positive cells are often scattered in the lower part of the gastrointestinal mucosa. In the appendix, in addition to the presence of serotonin-positive cells in the mucosa, the lamina propria adjacent to the epithelium may contain single or small groups of positive cells.
5-hydroxytryptamine (Serotonin) is an important neurotransmitter widely involved in mood regulation, immune function and digestive system activities. Immunohistochemistry kits containing Serotonin antibody reagents are suitable for precise diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors and central nervous system diseases.
