Mucins are a group of high molecular weight glycoproteins whose synthesis and secretion are among the characteristics of glandular epithelial tissue. Mucin 1 is expressed in many benign plasmacytoid tumors and is decreased in benign mucinous tumors; in malignant tumors, it is usually expressed in adenocarcinomas and at the junction of plasmacytoid and mucinous tumors. Its concurrent expression with Muc-2 correlates with the malignancy of ovarian mucinous tumors.

The MUC-1 antibody reagent can specifically bind to the MUC-1 molecule antigen. The immunohistochemical kit containing the MUC-1 antibody reagent is suitable for the precise diagnosis of adenocarcinoma (such as breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and ovarian cancer).
