p53 is a tumor suppressor gene with tumor suppression and transcriptional activity. DNA damage or cellular stress signals can induce p53 gene transcription, triggering cell cycle arrest, apoptosis and DNA repair. Mutations at the nucleophosphoprotein site of the p53 gene are a common form of mutation in human cancers. p53 mutations or inactivation occur in approximately 60% of cancers. The main type of p53 detected by immunohistochemistry is mutant p53, which can be used as a prognostic reference for the research of malignant tumors.
p53 antibody reagents can specifically bind to p53 molecular antigens. Immunohistochemical kits containing p53 antibody reagents are suitable for the detection of tumor-mutated p53 proteins (such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and ovarian cancer).
