Tubulin β III plays a key role in the formation of the cellular cytoskeleton, with its primary functions including maintaining the stability of the centrosome, regulating chromosome movement, and playing a crucial role in mitosis. β-tubulin-III is specifically distributed in neurons and is commonly used as a marker for neural tissue. β-tubulin-III is also present in various types of tumors, and research has shown that this molecule can serve as a diagnostic or prognostic marker for multiple types of tumors. One of the key mechanisms underlying resistance to taxanes is the overexpression of Tubulin β III. Patients with low expression of Tubulin β III exhibit high sensitivity to taxanes and better treatment outcomes, and this marker is primarily used in studies of ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer. Low expression of Tubulin β III is a prognostic marker associated with favorable overall survival.
The β-tubulin-III antibody reagent specifically binds to the β-tubulin-III molecular antigen. The immunohistochemistry kit containing the β-tubulin-III antibody reagent is suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer.
