Myosin is a protein that interacts with actin in muscle and some non-muscle-derived cells, with a molecular weight of about 480 kDa. Myosin consists of two identical heavy chains (200 kDa each) and four light chains (15-26 kDa). Its molecular structure is divided into rod and globular regions, and Myosin aggregates into fibers through the rod region and interacts with actin and ATP through the globular region. There are different myosins in different myocyte types due to their physiological functions, such as skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, smooth muscle, and non-muscle iso-myosin, etc. These myosins are characterized by their speed of contraction. These myosins are categorized into type I (slow) and type II (fast) according to their contraction rate.
Skeletal Myosin antibody reagents can specifically bind to skeletal myosin molecular antigens. Immunohistochemistry kits containing skeletal myosin antibody reagents are suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of striated muscle tumors.
