P501S is an isoform of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is highly expressed in prostate cancer tissues and less or not expressed in benign prostate tissues. Detection of P501S by immunohistochemistry can help pathologists identify prostate cancer cells more accurately under the microscope. Especially in cases that are difficult to differentiate, such as the differentiation between atypical hyperplasia of the prostate and early stage of prostate cancer, the detection of P501S can provide an important diagnostic basis, which can help to improve the accuracy of prostate cancer diagnosis.
