Ep-CAM is expressed in epithelial and basal cells in most epithelial tissues, and is positively expressed in most adenocarcinomas, basal cell squamous carcinomas, and a small percentage of malignant mesotheliomas in tumor tissues, and also labels synovial sarcomas and pro-fibroproliferative small round cell tumors.

EP-CAM antibody reagents can specifically bind to EP-CAM molecular antigens. Immunohistochemistry kits containing EP-CAM antibody reagents are suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of epithelial tumors (such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and ovarian cancer).
