PIT-1, also known as growth hormone factor-1 (GHF-1), is a member of the POU family of homologous structural domains and is essential for the normal development of the anterior pituitary gland.PIT-1 is involved in the differentiation of GH cells, PRL cells, and TSH cells. The expression of PIT-1 is markedly increased in PRL and GH tumors, and is rarely expressed in ACTH and non-functioning adenomas, thus PIT-1 has a role in the cell-specific differentiation and proliferation of human pituitary adenomas, especially GH and PRL adenomas. -1 has a role in cell-specific differentiation and proliferation of human pituitary adenomas, especially GH and PRL adenomas. Polyhormonal adenomas with PIT-1 expression are defined as polyhormonal PIT-1-positive adenomas in the New Pituitary Classification. It is mainly used in the study of pituitary tumors.
PIT-1 antibody reagents can specifically bind to PIT-1 molecular antigens. Immunohistochemistry kits containing PIT-1 antibody reagents are suitable for the classification of pituitary tumors.
