Growth inhibitory receptors are G protein-coupled receptors, including five subtypes, of which SSTR2 mediates the inhibition of growth hormone release. In addition to being expressed in normal organs and tissues, SSTR is also widely distributed in various neuroendocrine tumors and a variety of solid tumors, such as pituitary adenomas, meningiomas, breast carcinomas, small-cell lung carcinomas, and hormone-producing tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. SSTR2 is mostly negatively expressed in prostate cancer and positively expressed in normal prostate tissue. In meningiomas SSTR2 is highly expressed. Normal colon, colon adenomas, and colon adenocarcinomas are expressed with decreasing intensity in that order.Tumors with negative SSTR expression are not amenable to nuclease-targeted therapy.
The SSTR2 antibody reagent specifically binds to the SSTR2 molecular antigen. The immunohistochemistry kit containing the SSTR2 antibody reagent is suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of meningioma, neuroblastoma, pituitary adenoma, small cell lung cancer, and carcinoid tumors.
