CK7 has a molecular weight of 54 kD and is present in adenoepithelial and migratory epithelial cells of most normal tissues, and is generally not expressed in cells of non-epithelial origin. It is positive in adenocarcinomas of the ovary, breast, and lung, and negative in adenocarcinomas of the gastrointestinal tract, and it is now generally recognized that CK7 is a more specific marker for adenocarcinomas and migratory epithelial cell carcinomas.

CK7 antibody reagents can specifically bind to CK7 molecular antigens. Immunohistochemistry kits containing CK7 antibody reagents are suitable for the precise diagnosis of adenocarcinoma and transitional cell carcinoma.
