Background Information

MITF is a transcription factor with a typical helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper structure that is strongly associated with hyperpigmentation, mast cells, and bone development.Mutations in MITF cause type II human Waardenburg syndrome. In mice, it results in a severe loss of pigmented cells in the skin, eyes, and inner ear, as well as skeletal lithiasis, natural killer cell, and mast cell defects.

Clinical Value

MiTF antibody reagents can specifically bind to MiTF molecular antigens. Immunohistochemistry kits containing MiTF antibody reagents are suitable for the precise diagnosis of malignant melanoma.
