PR is positively expressed in the cell nucleus. PR consists of 933 amino acid residues and exists in two isoforms, PR-A and PR-B, which are expressed in the epithelial cells of normal endometrium and breast tissue. PR is expressed in normal breast tissue, and the positive rate of PR in breast cancer is approximately 50%. PR positivity indicates high responsiveness to endocrine therapy, and PR-positive patients generally have a better prognosis than PR-negative patients. PR is not specific for metastatic breast cancer but may play a role in certain differential diagnoses. It is generally believed that PR may be present only in hormone-responsive tissues, including certain subtypes of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and endometrial cancer.
Progesterone receptor antibody reagents can specifically bind to progesterone receptor molecular antigens. Immunohistochemistry kits containing progesterone receptor antibody reagents are suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of breast cancer.
