Clinical Value

This probe is located near the terminal region of chromosome 11q and is suitable for detecting 11q deletion abnormalities in Burkitt-like lymphoma. The 2016 edition of the WHO classification introduced a new subtype of Burkitt-like lymphoma with 11q abnormalities, characterized by 11q gain (11q23.3) or loss (11q24.3), MYC translocation-negative, PAFAH1B2 overexpression or ETS1 gene deletion, affecting children or young adults, with males outnumbering females, and exhibiting morphology and phenotype highly similar to Burkitt lymphoma (CD10+/BCL6+/BCL2-/high Ki67). Treatment protocols for Burkitt-like lymphoma with 11q abnormalities are similar to those for Burkitt lymphoma. 11q abnormalities include two types: 11q23.3 (gain) and 11q24.3 (deletion), The D11S1037 locus is located at the terminal region of 11q24.3, enabling detection of terminal region deletions on 11q, and is equipped with an 11th chromosome centromere probe, serving as an effective supplement to the F.01315 11q23.3/11q24.3 probe.
