Auxiliary diagnosis of extraosseous Ewing sarcoma (ES).The typical histologic presentation of ES consists of uniformly small round cells that need to be differentiated from other small round cell tumors. In addition, some variants of ES (e.g., atypical or large cell, clear cell, angioepithelioma-like, enamel cell tumor-like, spindle cell, sclerosis, etc.) need to be differentiated from other mesenchymal or epithelial malignancies. About 90% of ES present with t(11;22)(q24;q12),involving EWSR1-FLI1 fusion, and about 5-10% with t(21;22)(q12;q12),involving EWSR1-ERG fusion.
