Cervical cancer
Patients with precancerous lesions with TERC gene amplification (CIN, or ASCUS, LSIL/HSIL) are significantly more likely to develop cervical cancer (more than 80%);
TERC gene status aids in pathologic grading and guides the choice of treatment regimen, and may prevent overtreatment of patients with precancerous lesions.
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
A tiny 1-2 Mb amplified region on 3q26 can be detected.
