Integrin aM (ITGAM) is a subunit of a protein that forms giant cell antigen (Mac-1) or complement receptor 3 (CR3).ITGAM, also known as CR3A and differentiation antigen cluster molecule 11B (CD11b), is a common myeloid marker with a 50% positive expression rate in acute myeloid leukemias.Co-assay of CD117 and CD11b helps to distinguish acute promyelocytic leukemia (CD11b-positive expression) from cases of acute promyelocytic leukemia (CD11b-negative expression) from cases with restored benign proliferation (CD117-negative expression, CD11b-positive expression).
