Breast Cancer
Applied to Mammary-type Myofibroblastoma: soft-tissue tumor originating in the breast indistinguishable from myofibroblastoma;
This tumor is often desmin and CD34 positive, with deletion of RB1 expression seen in about 90% of patients; its genetic profile is similar to that of spindle-cell liposarcoma with a The genetic features are similar to those of spindle cell lipomas, with heterozygous or heterozygous deletion of the 13q14 locus (RB1), and sometimes with a 16q deletion.
Fibrous Histiocytic Tumors and Neoplastic Lesions
Applied to spindle cell lipoma/pleomorphic lipoma.
Spindle cell lipomas and pleomorphic lipomas share a common genetic profile and often exhibit 16q13-qter deletions, with 13q12 and 13q14-22 deletions also being more common.
