CD5 Molecular Targets Overview
The CD5 molecule is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 67 kD, which consists of an extracellular region of 347 amino acids and an intracellular region of 93 amino acids, and belongs to a family of cysteine-rich scavenger receptors. It is expressed on mature T cells and a small proportion of normal B cells.CD5 antigen-positive T lymphocytes have a signal transduction function, whereas CD5 antigen-positive B lymphocytes, in addition to having an immune function, are closely associated with the development of disease.
