FUT4 Molecular Target Information Overview
Molecular Name: FUT4, fucosyltransferase 4
Gene Family: Fucosyltransferases; CD molecules
Alias: FUC-TIV
Formerly: CD15; FCT3A; ELFT
Full name: galactoside 3-L- fucosyltransferase; alpha (1,3) fucosyltransferase, myeloid-specific; ELAM ligand fucosyltransferase
FUT4 molecular target overview
CD15 is a 220 kDa carbohydrate also known as SSEA-1, Lewis3-fucosyltransferase, and Lewis3-fucosyltransferase. Lewis3-fucosyl-N-acetyllactosamine (3-FAL).CD15 is expressed on most granulocytes and monocytes, but not on lymphocytes. It is involved in cell adhesion, chemotaxis and phagocytosis.
