Formerly known as: CD45
PTPRC Molecular Targets Overview
CD45, also known as leukocyte common antigen (LCA), consists of a class of structurally similar, high molecular weight (180 kDa, 190 kDa, 205 kDa, 205 kDa, 205 kDa, 205 kDa, 205 kDa) molecules. LCA consists of a group of structurally similar transmembrane proteins with large molecular weights (180 kDa, 190 kDa, 205 kDa, and 200 kDa), which are widely present on the surface of all leukocytes (including lymphocytes, granulocytes, and monocytes) but are not expressed on mature erythrocytes, platelets, mature red lineage cells in bone marrow, or in nonhematopoietic tissues. The cytoplasmic compartment of CD45 acts as a protein tyrosine phosphatase and activates tyrosine dephosphorylation on the substrates P56lck and P59fyn. CD45 is a key molecule in signaling on the cell membrane, and is important in the development and maturation of lymphocytes, functional regulation and signaling. The distribution of CD45 can be used as a classification marker for certain T cell subpopulations.
