CD57 Molecular Targets Overview
Molecular weight is 110 kD and is expressed on NK cells, T-lymphocyte subtypes, B-lymphocytes and monocytes. It is a carbohydrate molecule that is a component of several glycoproteins.
CD57 is expressed on B-CLL, malignant melanoma, small cell lung cancer, and fetal neuroepithelial cells. CD57 glycan chains in the brain are bound to neuronal cell adhesion molecules, myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG), lipids, etc. CD57+ T lymphocytes are increased after AIDS and organ transplantation.
